I wanted to share a few comments about our first day of band camp. The kids did outstanding! There are so many adjustments we have had to make due to the construction and renovations, but the students had a great first day. Thankfully we had an overcast morning for our outside marching instruction. The rest of the week may not be as comfortable. Please remember to bring a full water jug and use sunscreen for our work outside.
Our afternoon consisted of sectionals, instrument solo auditions (results announced tomorrow), and finding missing equipment that had been packed away for the summer. Overall a successful first day of putting together our production.
Students were also give a handout with information about our end of camp pool party (August 15th at 8pm), parent survey, and booster polo/fleece order form. Seniors were also given a handout about ordering a warm up, which is optional, not a requirement. Please adhere to deadlines for these order forms.
One final reminder that we will have our band truck returning to campus Tuesday afternoon around 4:30pm. I am excited to see our new graphics, and want to thank our Booster Board and other parents who helped with securing donations and sponsorships to help offset the cost.
